About the Organisers
JICA and MInistry of ICT and National Guidance, HIVE COLAB are piloting a coding contest in Uganda from 10th December 2020 to 15 March 2021. The partners recognize the integral role that ICT plays in attaining the SDGs and in Uganda’s national development. JICA is interested in contributing to Uganda’s ICT sector in collaboration with the Japanese ICT sector. To do this, the partners are formulating an ICT Engineers training programme targeting talented Ugandans in the ICT field. The goal is also to position them to access the Japanese ICT market. This program will compensate for the shortages of employment opportunities for ICT talent in Uganda and bridge the ICT human resource gap in Japan resulting from demographic supply -demand imbalance.
